De Hoge Veluwe National Park is facing an enormous challenge. The Visitor center in the middle of the Park no longer suffices. The restaurant was also dated. The facilities do not form a unity with the landscape.
A new Hart of De Hoge Veluwe was urgently needed. An open space with sustainable facilities. With interactive programs and inspiring exhibitions. A place where - increasingly more - visitors meet and share stories. And experience the beauty of nature, art and architecture together. That is why we built the Park Paviljoen (completed June 2019).
Our plans

- Construction of a sustainable and multifunctional building with information center for visitors, reception and education rooms, shop, restaurant and sanitary facilities including terrace, playground, access road and cycle path, parking space and thermal storage (heat and cold storage). - completed June 2019
- Renovation of the Museonder and renewal of the exhibition. This creates an internationally respected museum about the nature of the Veluwe and the influence of man on the landscape. The Museonder remains at the current location. The renovation (so no demolition) takes place in phases.
- Redesign of the Marchantplein and development of an event area. The bicycle repair workshop is being moved and the bicycle parking is being extended. In harmony with the natural environment. An accessible, open space in the forest.
In private management
We proudly say: De Hoge Veluwe National Park is the largest contiguous actively managed nature reserve in our country. In private ownership. With a business management virtually without government subsidies. The Park is still there 'to the benefit and enjoyment of the community'. Exactly as Helene Kröller-Müller once wanted. With a milestone in 2015: 80 years of consistent nature management. We use the entrance fees in an optimal way to preserve the Park for new generations. Just like your indispensable donations and sponsor contributions.
